My coolant pump won't prime and therefore I can't get the proper amount of coolant in the system. The piping is correct, the pump is running in the right direction and I tested the pump in the sink. I can put about 14 oz of coolant in... it it should take about 24. I was thinking of installing a tee in the suction line with a valve to try and fill it there while the pump is running rather than at the catch can. Any thoughts?

When I was doing mine, I noticed that the coolant radiator, placed according to plans, was actually slightly higher in the system than the coolant can. The result was that I could not purge the air from the radiator. I ended up filling the system from the highest hose coming off the radiator.

I also noticed that if the can is filled too high during the bleed process, you can not easily see the coolant moving through the can. I lowered the level to just above the cans return line and it was then clear that, although I thought there was no circulation happening, I could now clearly see the fluid moving.

It does not scream through the system like a class 5 rapid. It moves more slowly. Watch for tiny bubbles moving across the reservoir, not a giant current.
