Has anyone had problems with the flanged cam bearing not fitting? The bearing seems pinched when I put it on the cam. The pinch is so bad that it is impossible to seat the bearing on the shaft. This is the same bearing the manual wants you to modify by filing off one of the tabs. John

Not an uncommon problem in aftermarket bearings. The fix, for an engine that will spend it's life on a road, is to polish the end with a piece of fine abrasive cloth. There is a tutorial on You Tube about it.

Mine were tight, so I tried a different set of bearings, and had no issue.

What is a good source for AeroVee parts? I think purchasing a new cam bearing set is a good idea.

I had one like that. I think it was a main bearing. It was the result of shipping damage. It was replaced.

When I got the parts to rebuild my Aerovee I used CB performance and aircooled.net.
