Hopefully they changed their ways but I gave up ordering from them unless absolutely necessary when they charged me to over $20 to ship a few extra rivets. It came in a box that was grossly oversized with no concern at all for trying to conserve on shipping costs for the customer.

I think we've changed the subject here, but what the heck. Sonex wanted $145 to ship a fuel level probe and two thermocouples (parts value $175) to Australia. They eventually sent it USPS for $45. With all the to-ing and fro-ing of emails, some parts that I ordered at the same time from Spruce arrived before my Sonex bits had even left Oshkosh.

I don't think people think about what it really cost to ship. Let's say the actual shipping charges were 12.00 dollars. How much do you think that box, tape, baggy, packing material and the cost of the person to go and pick your part. I don't work for free and I don't expect the guys at the factory to. With that said 20 bucks for some rivets don't sound so bad. We are building a airplane!

20 bucks to ship some rivets that most likely could have been mailed? How about 90 bucks to ship a windscreen to Chicago too? Ease up on the Oshkosh kool- aid.

Personally I've never had any issues ordering all my parts straight from the factory. In a lot of cases the price they charge is less than if I ordered something from a third party. Plus I'm all for supporting the home team.

Okay this thread has ran its course. If anyone has anything useful to add PM me. Otherwise this thread is locked.
