While flying (like a jackass) I felt a pop under my seat. Nothing else changed. When got back home I investigated and found my seat sling had failed. After looking it over, Decided to simply rivet a aluminum patch with a larger radius, using three rows of rivets on each side of the crack. There are a few possible causes for the failure :
1) I am getting too fat!
2) I pull too many Gs too often
3) some combination of 1) & 2)
4) 1200 hrs of jackass pilot is asking too much for 0.025" aluminum.
5) my landings are worse than I thought.
