B model, Trike, Nose wheel pant

Postby sjakulski » Fri Apr 15, 2022 6:32 pm

So, what the heck. Can’t make more than a few hours of progress before the trike waiex-B plans present more issues ;-O

So, with the kit was sent a nose wheel pant with no way to install it without pulling off the nose wheel and strut and running the strut through the pant hole that is to be drilled. NOT going to do that each time I need to remove the pant. Or, Sonex sent me the wrong pant as it should be a two part pant. Or, Sonex expects us to do major surgery -split it apart.

What is the case for those already beyond that point?

Take a look at the way Cessna does their nose wheel pant. A narrow slot behind the strut with a cover that when removed allows the pant to be rotated 90 and slipped down over the wheel forks.
