Control stick movement

Progressing on my Onex build, however ran into an issue I need some ideas on. I just finished setting up my aileron throws and moved onto the elevator, however, with the aileron rod ends tightened with the check nuts I find the control stick will not move fore and aft. Scratched my head a little on this one then decided to backoff the check nut on the rod ends at the stick and all worked fine. I checked the plans and they show both
ends of the push rods have rod ends with check nuts. What am I doing wrong?

George,
There has to be something more wrong than jam nuts. I'd check the parts and drawings again and look for the interference.

I agree, but I don't know what it is. As the control stick is pulled back the rod ends need to move (rotate slightly), however with the jam nuts tighten snug they can not rotate.

You have heim style rod ends right? They should pivot.

I had a similar issue on my B model. It matters what position the rods are rotated at before tightening the jamb nuts. e.g. lock one up first and then tighten the other once in the middle of rotation. A bit of trial and error until they don't bind. They can't work against each other.

Yep, exactly this. Each joint has some rotation, and you just have to make the most of it. Tie the stick all the way back, then snug the nuts at the very end of their rotation. On my Onex, that just barely gave me enough room to pivot.
