Is anyone using a store bought tow bar for a Onex that they are happy with?

Hi,

Conventional or tri-gear?

I own a conventional gear OneX and have never seen the need for a tow bar. I just pick up the tail and pull it wherever it needs to go. Same with my Xenos (all of them have conventional gear). The Xenos was heavier but it was still easy to move around.

Sorry, I should have mentioned it is a trigear...

In my tri gear Sonex, I replaced the nose wheel attach bolt with one 1" longer and put a 1/2" spacer on each side. Then a standard Cessna towbar works just fine, and they are everywhere.

I bought the least expensive tow bar like I used on my C-150. Nothing fancy, spring loaded to cover the two pins/nuts on the front wheel. I had to replace the axle nut with a castle nut so the cup would go over it. I used it on the front wheel axle bolt, head and nut. But, I know it's unusual but I started pulling the Onex into my standard T hanger head first. It works great. Drive it in, push it out. No need for a tow bar. It's nice to pull in under the raised door out of the sun and or rain. The Onex is short enough that it will go in both ways.
