Decided to mount oops fitting, now rather than later. One 1/8 fitting for the fuel measurement tube, and one large for the fuel outlet. Has anyone done this, on the "old" tank with molded fittings? According to the instructions, the large oops fitting must be mounted straight down, vertical on the bottom, not horizontal like the molded fitting. It's impossible to see anything in there, so before drilling the 1 inch hole at the bottom, I would like to hear experiences from others. The molded fittings causes protrusions inside that may cause problems. (have already drilled for the 1/8 inch fitting)

I made a pair of tools to smooth off the boss on the inside of the tank for the two sizes of fittings. Several people have used these and they are out with someone now, perhaps that person if reading this can send them on to you. With those is also a modified step drill that one of the users madea that makes drilling out the small fittings easier.

Thanks, but I live in Norway, sending that tool across the Atlantic would probably cost a whole bunch :-) Could you describe more what it looks like, pics? and did you go with the outlet vertical ?

Can anyone tell me what these "oops fittings" are and where I can get them?

hi guy
opps fittings avbl from sonex. look at the online web store. the origional tanks had molded in alum fittings, that over time became leak areas. new tanks no fittings, just drill a proper size hole and install oops fitings which seal by o rings.

Yes, I have an old unused tank. Wish I knew the real name of the OOPs fittings.
