Tire Failure

I'm posting this here also. It could affect any tricycle model.
What does a tire failure have to do with an Aerovee? My Onex is parked on carpet. The AeroInjector dripped car gas, my fault, until there was a wet spot around the nose wheel. After about three days, the contact area of the tire on the floor swelled up both radially and side ways until the tire contacted the wheel pant. Makes a bad noise when you taxi, thankfully, at low speed. The tire had no indication on the inside and the tube was not effected. I thought I had a flat tire and went back to the hangar. It was just luck that the tire was rotated to the point that I could see the lack of clearance in the pant. Otherwise I'd probably still be looking for the problem.
