Onex with Jab 3300

I have acquired Jab 3300 powered Onex #016 from the builder, Merle Reppert and flew it from N. CA to Independence, OR yesterday. I also own Sonex #265 (that is currently for sale) built by Merle. There a few little details to work out yet but the aircraft is fun to fly. The AC has an roll axis autopilot that make cross-country flying much easier. You can even fold a map without having to fly with you knees. Merle did a great job shoe-horning the Jab into the stock cowl. The only way you can tell something is different is there are no VW rocker covers sticking out of the cowl. I'm having some problems with high oil temps, but have a fix I'll report on. The oil cooler air is fed through a SCAT duct that I'm going to replace with a larger diameter. The engine is #33A1825. I'd like to hear what cruise rpm other Jab 3300 owners are running at.
