The tank I have now is about all I care to endure before wanting to get out for a stroll to the men's room. Still the idea of some extra fuel is intriguing and I have, like many others, looked at options. The Turtle-Pac is a good choice if traveling solo. Stuart Trist used this same idea with a jerry can:

Because I have no rearward CG issues this would work for me. I also considered just adding an 8" X 33" Polyethylene Buggy Fuel Tank (8 gallons) behind the seat between the verticals:
