Nose wheel pant

Postby tljones42 » Sat Jan 04, 2014 10:32 am

Has anyone else found that the nose wheel pant does not fit all the way down over the nose wheel fork (rounded wheel pant top and squared off nose wheel fork) and if so how did they deal with it.

No it does not fit all the way down. I just lived with it until 2 weeks ago when I started the conversion to tailwheel.

For the other new Onex builders, if you haven't yet fitted the nose wheel pant you should disregard the plans instructions on where to drill axle hole(s). Kerry tells me the pant should just be "fitted" to the nose strut/fork and the plan dimensions will leave you with axle holes in the pant that are in the wrong place.

I drilled the pant holes where they naturally fell. It results in a little more tire exposed but so what?
