Installing new windshield and bow

Postby mccool » Sun Dec 29, 2024 12:43 pm

I'm mounting a new windshield and bow on my Onex. The old one was fitting real ugly, (not my fault! LOL), so I'm starting from scratch with a new windshield and the bow part. The canopy fits just fine.
Any tips or tricks to getting the best fit on this? I've been wrestling the bow into shape and it's close...I think. I thought maybe mount the windshield and get it to match the canopy. Then make the bow fit it??

Assuming the Onex is similar to a legacy Sonex, I might try using the old windshield as a tool to get it right. You can hack the old windshield as required, and fill in gaps with blue tape. The screws into the canopy are probably not the critical part for fit. The bow attachment to the longeron is. After you get a good fit with the old windshield, transfer the shape to the new lexan.
