I transitioned from a Cessna 150 to a Onex with 10 hours of Champ time thrown in. The Onex is a pretty sensitive aircraft. I found it needing a lot of attention to stay on a heading and altitude. The tail didn't want to stay behind me. So, the change I made was to smooth out the tail surfaces by adding gap seals to the rudder and elevators. It's really simple to do, doesn't change weight and balance, and made a large change in performance. The rudder settled down and the change in trim on the first flight was a couple of turns.
