Regarding the matched hole parts , I've found the machined and flat parts to be bang on . I have been finding issues with some channel parts. These parts are laser cut flat with the rivet holes done at that time . If the part is not bent perfectly on the brake it can cause the parts to be too narrow or wide with the holes in the wrong location . I've also had some flanges bent a little askew with the hole line wandering .

My technique with channel parts is to now confirm and tweak the flange angles first . I then measure the centre line of the rivet holes and see if the part was bent correctly . I also measure the width of the channel and see if it has a constant width .

Having done all that , I'm now ready to try to massage all the parts into the best configuration to match all the holes in the assembly to minimize hole elongation .

If you just trust the holes and cleco and rivet you may not be getting the best outcome .
