In the case of the Aerovee, you are the manufacturer of the engine so you set your own limits. Aeroconversions as the engine kit maker only provides suggested guidance on what power settings to use. You are the one who will set the limitation on maximum continuous power for the engine you build.

True of course, but it's comforting to know that the aircraft manufacturer also verifies it. I just watched most of the really long turbo webinar, and in the Q&A at about 40min, Jeremy states with 100% certainty that the turbo is sport pilot legal for all of their aircraft.

So far, this isn't helping me resist :D

As you can see from the change in subject, I decided to go for the turbo. There are plenty of rational reasons to stick with the non-turbo engine, but ultimately I'm sure I would have regretted it. I may regret the turbo too, but in a different way :D

Now I wait for the kit and engine to arrive...
