Im working on the upper cross tie bolts that are inside the box. The bolts coming down into the box from inside the plane are what im looking to put the final bolts in. Why do the plans call for AN 7A bolt and 2 washers on each hole? Wouldn't a AN-6A bolt with one washer work good? Are people putting a washer on top and one on bottom? The sites I looked at could not make out these bolts real good.
Thanks
Mike

Mike,
In my opinion many Sonex callouts are one size long. I have often gone down a size because I am nuts about that sort of thing. But, two washers won't kill anything.

yep - I used -6 bolts, with two washers on the aft bolt, and one on the forward bolt (because that's what a test fit showed would work). The aft bolt has one less layer of 0.025" to fit through because of how the box is built.

That is what I was thinking. I have been putting double washer on many parts.

I believe up to 3 washers under the nut is acceptable practice. That said, before starting I had every size needed per the plans. I had to order more hardware to comply with the 3 or less washer rule.
