I'm building solo and need suggestions on the simplest way to install the fasteners that attach the fuselage skin to the windscreen sides. Maybe rivet a wrench to a metal strip to hold the nut. Thanks for your suggestions.

I just used some blue painters tape to attach a wrench to a metal yard stick. I also used some tape to hold the nut to the wrench.

In the category of wish I would have done it this way first time. I plan to make a strap of aluminum most of the forward length of the wind shield and tap it for the screws. Last time I changed the windshield it took two of us an hour to get the forward six screws in. Talk about arms too short to box with God! With a Strap it will be like having nut plates attached to lexan.

Thanks Stan,John and Bill. The impossible task was completed in less than an hour thanks to your suggestions. I had dismissed duct tape as being not strong enough but I forgot that it is good for 100 mph. I bought a 1/8" X 1/2" X 36" AL strip at Lowes and taped a wrench to it. The AL has some flex which was needed to keep the wrench on the nut. I wa surprised at how quickly things went. Not sure if the pic will come out.

I put a series of two lug anchor nuts on aluminum strips, long enough to cover all the screws my arms were not long enough to reach.
