SNX-F14 (forward fuse side angles)

Hi ya'll,

Another question for you wise folks. I'm working on my forward fuse now. How did you bend your F14-08 angles? These are the forward wing attach angles 1.5x15" aluminum. Getting a nice repeatable 86 deg bend in this long piece of angle? Just squeezing it in a press a few inches at a time?

Thanks much!

Kevin

I used the hammer on that one and used the my HP press and a solid rod for the 94 deg one.

Hi Kevin. I bent my angles using a large vice as a press. I used a couple of lengths of steel angle to extend the width of the vice jaws so that the whole bend could be done in one. Like Concorde, I also used a solid steel rod for opening the angle. Don't expect the bend to look exactly like the Sonex drawing. The outer faces of the angle will end up slightly convex for the 86 degree angles and slightly concave for the 94 degree angles.
