I expected the plans to read "File/Sand flanged bushing..." rather than "File/Sand Thrust Bearing". Am I right to assume the idea is to grind the flanged bushing until it is just long enough that the thrust bearing has a slight amount of play while sandwitched between the pushrod plate and the bellcrank?

Or is there actually not a typo and I'm completely misthinking how this works?

Got a response from Sonex tech support. It is a typo and you are supposed to sand the bushing.
