Hello everyone

Spring is here in many parts of the US, and first flights are already occurring! We wanted to post an update in hopes of attracting more members to the foundation.

We have a two-tier membership structure.

Our intent is to run a low cost type club, with revenue coming from voting membership dues and member donations, and to be responsive to membership needs. As a grassroots not-for-profit organization, it is the members who will provide much of the content and direction of the type club.

Tier 1 – Club Member - Being a Club Member is free and does not require paying dues.

Tier 2 – Voting Member – Voting Members pay dues of $25 per year, have voting privileges, and will help steer the direction of the Foundation.

The Sonex Builders & Pilots Foundation has received tax exempt status from the IRS. The Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization and was granted this status in June of 2014.

Send donations or Voting Membership dues ($25 annually) to Sonex Builders and Pilots Foundation, c/o Carl Orton, Treasurer, PO Box 820082, Ft. Worth, TX 76182-0082. You may also use the PayPal feature on the link below. When making dues donations, please fill out the registration form below.

Congratulations to Chris - administrator and owner of SonexBuilders.net - for growing the forum membership over 1000. A big milestone.

At our member meeting in July, the idea was raised of a members party at Oshkosh AirVenture 2015. We are planning an event but it must have member support in order to succeed. To date, we have not received a single response. Is this party still something members want?

Please contact Robbie@sonexfoundation.org if you have interest.

We are lucky to have Wayne Daniels as a host for this event, and are planning this as a member-driven event. Translated, that means we need several members to volunteer to assist us. One challenge will be transportation. This is something we need assistance with and have begun working on ideas. The logistics of getting people to the other side of the airport and back is going to require planning but is something I know we can do.

The party will be an informal BYOB burgers and brats affair at Wayne's 7th Heaven over on the east side of Wittman Field and details will be released in early 2015, including a request for RSVP's. The date is tentatively set as Wednesday July 22nd, 2015. The night airshow is a highlight of the week, and we can enjoy it from the perspective of Wayne's backyard. Our plan is to keep costs to a minimum, hopefully around $5 a head.

Did you know that the SBPF produces a quarterly newsletter, titled Shop Talk, for its registered members?

If you are not already a member, click here http://sonexfoundation.com/Become_a_Member.html to join so that you receive the newsletter while it is hot off the press!

We normally only send our current newsletter to members via email, and post archived issues on our website for everyone to see.

The November 2014 newsletter may be found at the link below - it is a large file so please be patient when you click the link. We made this issue available to all due to the urgent nature of the conversation - safety.

Archived issues of Shop Talk are now located on the http://sonexfoundation.com/Newsletter_Archives.html page under the News section of our site.

Also by member demand, we still have our first set of tee shirts for sale. A special thank you to Tony Sabos for his efforts to get a really cool logo on these shirts, and for donating the first set of shirts.

We have white tee shirts with pockets for $25 shipped to a U.S. Address. These shirts have tags.

In white we have Large and Extra Large

We have black tee shirts without tags and without pockets for $25 shipped to a U.S. Address.

In black we have Extra Large and Large

You can see the shirts and logo here

This is a trial run and we do not guarantee there will be more at this price - we have to evaluate the orders and make sure we cover our costs. All of the proceeds are for the foundation.

If you want a tee shirt, you must send a check with a note that specifies the color and size, or use our updated PayPal links on our homepage. This is first come first served and they will be sold in the order received and shipped as soon as possible.

Please understand we are doing this from our home so it won't be a one day turnaround on the orders!

Mail a check with the size and color to the address below or click http://sonexfoundation.com and use the PayPal button for the shirt you want. If we get more orders than we have shirts I will place a second order, but this will take some time to complete.
