hey just thought i'd start a thread to keep track of my build and some documentation of the build...bought a set of plans last summer at oshkosh and studied them till february..started making tail parts 2/28/18...i'm up to 175 hrs so far and really enjoying the process....so in this first post i'll just put up some pictures to show where i'm at and try to update regularly

175 hours and 3 months and you have already scratch built the tail and aft fuselage! That is some very quick work. Right on.

That does not include the 40 hrs of CAD work lol

Do you have access to a water jet or mill? This seems very quick for laying out the parts and drilling and deburring by hand. I am scratch building, I did the score can brake method for a long time prior to getting a shear and brake worth anything. Wish I got them sooner. Wish I had a mill to do some of the angle pieces. It looks good so far.

I use to work at a machine shop with everything mills, hasses, and laser cutters. One of the requirements when I left was to be able to come in and use what I needed if I would help out when anybody needed off. Turns out only a couple times a year. Great exchange lol.
