I guess what I’m asking is do you see a problem drilling the axle weldments first then the engine mount after rotated to the .7 deg toe in. Billy

Billy,
I think that would work. I would start drilling in the mount to mark it, head to the drill press to finish drilling the leg, then back to the airplane to punch the hole through the mount.

Installing main landing gear legs on conventional mount. I have removed all powder coating, and leg fits fine inserting from bottom or top but very tight to completely insert. Does this require hammering in to fit? Thanx billy

Billy,

My gear legs required some light lubrication and lots of wiggling back and forth, but no hammer. I used Boelube which is a drilling lubricant.

Your mileage may vary.

Bin working on this fuel tank installation for 3weeks. Now fit and hung I’m trying to figure out how to secure it front to back to not allow wear on aluminum tank.
