A Very Useful "Non Aviation" Tool

Several years ago I made this fairly custom door buck for my finish carpentry work. It's used to hold a door on edge so that you can rout hinge mortises and install the hinges. The moveable jaw slides parallel to the fixed jaw so that it can accommodate different door thicknesses. The jaws have felt pads to keep from scratching doors.
I have used this repeated to hold my elevators and rudders for layout, drilling, and riveting. Extremely useful!
Never buy what you can easily make. And making your tools, jigs and fixtures improves your skills.
