Greetings! My first post! I am scratch building s/n 1510 TD and want to construct the 5 Inch tail wheel, but need to know if there are any drawings for that. Also, what is the recomended part number and source for the actual wheel itself? lastly, any other hints on doing this! Thanks, Joe Nelsen, Gunter, TX :)

Sonex does not sell any parts to support a 5" tail wheel, however, a member of this forum, Kip Laurie, does.

Kip designed a nice bracket very similar to the sdt Sonex tail wheel bracket, for use with the Vans lightweight 5" tail wheel, all you need is his bracket and the Vans Tail wheel, all other parts remain std Sonex.

Thanks much Michael! The wheel info is what was really needed...which one to get. I have seen Bob Mika's tailwheel and understand how he did the mod. Have you address for Kip?
