Panel sight tube

Postby Kai » Sun Oct 07, 2018 2:39 am

I don’t know what kind of stuff US distributors put into their mogas, but over here they foist all kinds if ‘goodies’ upon us- up to 10% bioethanol and 4% touluene, to mention a few.

Problem is the fuel discolors the supposedly clear sight tube in the instrument panel after just a few months, making it difficult to read fuel quantity.

I have tried several of the tubes available from Spruce- presently the panel sports clear fuel primer line: also discolored, I’m sorry to say.

So, I would appreciate comments from others who have found something that actually works: tubing that is actually safe to use with aggressive mogas, and stays clear as well.

Thanks

I use avgas, so maybe not applicable to you, but the tubing I used was from automobile racing suppliers and so are generally good for most mogas. After 5.5 years my tubing is still nearly as clear as when I installed it.
