Hydraulic Brake Lines

I'm adding independent brakes. I have the vans rv pedals I am going to install. They came with a different size hydraulic line (1/4" od) compared to Sonex 3/16" lines. I can use both lines and fittings that came with each kit and not have to buy any line and not many fittings. Does anyone know if you can mix hydraulic line size? I would change line sizes at a common point (parking brake), then continue from there with the smaller 3/16" size. Each side would have equal amounts of each line, other than the extra required to go from the left side of the cockpit, to the right brake. It would get about an extra 2' of the 3/16" line. Does this work? or should I just pony up for the extra line and fitting to make it all match? I just hate wasting things!

That should work. Going up in size will make for less restrictive flow. There is effectively no flow in brakes so there will be no difference. As long as you have no latent OCD tendencies I see no issues.

Wanton waste is overcoming OCD, but just barely! Thanks Bryan!
