So we got the notification from Sonex - our wing kit shipped yesterday....it is now sitting in the Con-Way facility two miles away from our house.....scheduled for delivery Tuesday when no one is here. Ack!

Going to call them today and see if anyone is around......sure like to get it this weekend....

Well, Con-Way is great to deal with. Called them, and while we cannot go get it this weekend, we were able to reschedule delivery for next Wednesday. Also confirmed the driver can help Brenda unload it....great service when I called....

I had to run from the dentist with a sore mouth to meet my Conway truck.

The pain stopped when I began opening boxes...

Just unloaded the wing kit and spars. Ouch. Lotso boxes and heavy stuff!

Great news Robbie! I hope you enjoy the wing build. It's pretty awesome when you start attaching the ribs to the spars and the wings start to take shape. Have fun!

After this tail section, it's gotta get easier......right? ;-)

After the tail, I found the wings to be pretty easy overall. The solid rivets in the main spars require a learning curve depending on what method you use (rivet gun or bolt&hammer method) so be prepared to drill a few out, but other than that things are pretty simple. Once you get to fitting and drilling the skins be prepared...there's a lot of deburring which seems to take forever to finish, so charge the iPod!

Get through the wings and you'll have lots of fun on the fuselage! :)

Some shots of the wing kit stuff.

Excellent packing and very sturdy - their advice for getting it off the truck was right on the money and it was in our driveway in minutes. Con-Way forgot the spars and had to go back and get them....but was back again in 20 minutes. (We live really close to their yard)

Optional quick build items - glad I don't have to make them all...

Lots and lots of rivets!

Big ding in the pallet but no damage to parts

Con-Way delivery guy was awesome!

Pallet in the garage - yes we know there are parts inside!

Wing spars! YAY!

But someone....tell me the wings are easier than the tail?

I told my wife a year to do both of them....about right? We got the pre-assembled spars...
