Question for Canadian Builders

Postby Rick524 » Sun May 20, 2018 11:22 am

Where did you mount your data plate? Cars say to rear of passenger entrance.
Would under the horizontal stab pass?

Thanks.

I mounted mine under the horizontal stab, on the left pilot side. Mine was completed in 2007 and no issues back then.

Thanks Mervin. That's where most planes I've seen have them. The regs
can be interpreted different ways. I'll go with that.

Data Plate Location

I mounted mine even with the leading edge of the horizontal stab and about 5" below on the pilots side of the fuse skin. That is the same spot I used on my previous RV's and it was accepted by the MD-RA.

I'm a little late to chime in but mine is the same. Below leading edge of left stab leading edge.
