Wing kit hardware question page SNX-W21 subpart -12

Postby Sonex1517 » Thu Dec 01, 2011 12:03 am

OK - now for a potentially stupid question. This may be so obvious I hesitate to ask.

I ordered my Wing Kit and knew to buy the hardware kit separately. It just arrived. This little devil is nowhere to be seen nor found on any list.

I am working on page SNX-W21 where the aileron bellcrank assembly is put together. I cannot for the life of me figure out what the steel bushings are or where to get them....

On the plans, these are on page SNX-W21 over in the left corner on part -10, aileron bellcrank assembly, and seem to be a sleeve around the AN3-14 bolt.

It is marked -12 pivot bushing and says 3/16" i.d. x 5/16" o.d. steel bushing stock x 1/2" long. 2 required.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over?

You have to buy stock material and make them yourself.

Wick's sells it:

Aircraft spruce sells bushing stock as well but they did not have it in that size when i went to order it.

Rats - I just ordered from Wicks and Aircraft Spruce. Is it something that a good hardware store would have or is it aircraft stock?

Really appreciate the response.

I think I got mine from Wicks but if you have a good hardware store around give it a shot. I've found a lot of that kind of stuff in the gray hardware bins at Ace hardware... As long as it's the correct size and material you should be fine.

I asked tech support this question and they said it comes with the kit - I will dig around this evening. Sure beats ordering more stuff.

Sonex tech support said that? I definitely did not get any in my kit...

Well, they were right. They were in the Wing kit parts and I just found them. Not sure if it is a new add to the kit, but I am sure happy to see them. I just put the aileron bellcrank on the brackets for a test fit.

Now if anyone has any advice on the note about spacing the part.... :)
