Does anyone have hands-on experience with an iLevil sport?

I am looking at one to use with an iPad mini.

I have an iLevil AW. It is the iLevel with the pitot static ports, ADHRS attitude sensors, GPS and ADS-B. I use it with an iPad and use the iLevil HUD utility and WingXPro. I really like the iLevil AW. But, I am a little disappointed with WingXPro (a completely separate company) as they advertise that it works with pitot static inputs but WingXPro keeps the barometric setting at 29.92 and you have to adjust the altitude versus entering the barometric pressure (i.e. manually change your elevation from 5000 to 5500 based on knowing your altitude from another source (a separate altimeter or GPS or the iLevil HUD utility)). iLevil said they are trying to convince WingXPro to add the ability to change the barometric pressure. I have also contacted WingXPro but got into an argument with them when they said to just set the altitude to field elevation when you take off. I told them how can you be in compliance with ATC when they give you a barometric pressure and then assign you an altitude. They said just use your FAA approved altimeter and that their product is not supposed to be a primary source for navigation that it is only for reference, etc. So, I ended up installing a 2 1/4 inch altimeter (Another $350 I had hoped to have avoided.

If I had to do it all over again, I would get the GRT Mini EFIS for $995 and just use the iPad for a map and probably go with the Jeppessen VFR only GPS software.

Have you decided on the iLevil Robbie?
If not and you use Foreflight, for $100 more I would highly recommend the Stratus 2, which also would give you ADS-B weather.
I had the chance to wring it out to Sun-n-Fun and back last month (C172, not my Sonex). The AHRS was flawless, GPS and ADS-B reception rock solid. The only issue was some overheating on the way down when placed on top of the panel. Picked up the RAM suction mount for it and when stuck to the side window on the way back, no more heat issues.

I recently went with the Dual 170 primarily due to the price, $550, but also it works with more than just one iPad app. The Garmin 3DL works only with the Garmin app, the Stratus only with Foreflight. The new AOPA app is really good, so I went that route.
I've only had one flight with it and wasn't really impressed with the ADS-B weather. I only received one METAR from an airport on the other side of town after flying more than 55 minutes. And I got that METAR while taxiing for takeoff. I'll fly some more this weekend with it and see if that's normal or something is wrong. I did throw it in my car for my commute and it got a different METAR from across the state. I do know that you shouldn't get great reception on the ground, but I was curious.

I am going with the iLevil SW. A very good friend of mine was selling his and I got a great deal. Too good to pass up.

I needed something to have when I get into phase one about a year down the road, and had been looking at various solutions. Combined with my iPad mini this looks like a really useful tool.

Once I actually have time on it I plan to write a full detailed review for the Foundation newsletter...
