I am looking to upgrade my panel with an EFIS. I have the GRT EIS installed and have had zero problems the last 6 years so I am looking at the GRT SX EFIS. Does anybody have one installed on the standard 30 degree slanted instrument panel? If so, did you have any problem with the clearance between the panel and fuel tank? If you fly with one, are you happy with it? Any and all comments/advice is welcome.
Thanks
Jim

GRT SX.
Have had one sense 2006 or so. Worked when installed and not faltered sense. Have Just about all the add on's. Running off EIS-4000 That I started with originally. With the new system you can build the 120 dollar ADS-b and it will give you free weather displayed.
I do like it but one thing that will have to be done if you have a TD is straighten up the panel. The Pitch Ladder adjustment will not adjust to the panel angle.
If you want to talk about it E-mail me off line at

Jim,
Have been flying with a GRT Sport SX since 2012. Works great. 30 degree angle no problem, but have tapered spacer behind mine to tip it slightly more vertical for easier reading. No problem in space behind panel, in fact I have my EIS dropped into top of glare shield between the Sport SX and fuel tank. since the EIS now acts mostly as a blind encoder for the Sport SX this location is out of the way but still gives easy access for setup. Found it best to set all alarm limits in the Sport SX and remove them from the EIS for simplicity in responding to any warnings. I have an ADB-S in receiver feeding data to that and it works great. Also dual axis autopilot controlled directly by it. I have the larger 8.4" version that bisects the panel and have re-enforced the panel which is an integral part of the fuselage structure to account for that. Have a number of photos and drawings available if interested e-mail me directly.
