I love Love LOVE! my Clarity Aloft. Seven years old, five years, at about a hundred hours a year. They are better than my David and Clark ANRs, FAR more comfortable, and don't hurt my head or interfere with my reading glasses going on and off. They don't work well with either my Senhausers (sp?) or the D and C.

So a second pair for a passenger will be a version of these:

I am going to make them using generic sunglasses as a frame, and using a pair of detachable, disposable earphones for passengers, or set them up so passengers can plug in their own earbuds... Something to do while the plane is in the hangar 20 miles away...

Bose A20, as an instructor I fly in many different aircraft with students wearing almost everything you can get. I have had compatibility problems with only 2 or 3 different older headsets/intercoms. I had a pair of Bose X flying helicopters that were better than anything else I had tried then decided to do the Bose try and return it program for a 2000 mile round trip thinking it couldn't be that much better and I would return it after...it was way better so I ended up keeping them and buying another set for my wife (glider pilot).

I have a David Clark H10.20 traditional headset. I have also put some sound/heat/vibration dampner insulation on and around the firewall, floor, and large panels on the lower rear fuselage. I also put weather striping around my canopy. I like the David Clark headset so I can monitor the sounds the engine makes. I have a Telex ANR headset for passengers.

I have the passive David Clark's with the flexible electrets microphone. They work great with the Garmin digital GTR radio. I get lots of complements from ATC on how clear my transmissions are. It must be the digital radio. I will post some more videos next week that demonstrate how clears the Garmin GTR is. It was easy to install with the optional Garmin wiring harness.
