MGL Xtreme - Aerovee - EMS Setup

Postby Sonex1462 » Sat Oct 31, 2015 11:54 pm

I am trying to setup the EMS section for my Xtreme.
I have the Aerovee 2.1 (non turbo)
I have the Sonex CHT probes.
I have the VDO senders (oil Temp and Pressure) from Sonex.
I have the MGL EGT probes.
Can someone who has already done this share their settings?

I am having trouble especially with the RPM settings. What pulses / revs ?

Thanks

I'm curious about this as well. I have the iefis Discovery lite but I imagine the setup settings are very much the same using the MGL RDAC. So far I have oil pressure reading, but not oil temp and I'm not sure the RPM is registering. Is it normal to get intermittent readings below 1000 rpm?

The rpm on my discovery lite has been all over the place. Hooked up exactly the same as my other engine and older Rdac with an ultra horizon xl and it reads fine . I haven't looked into it much yet but I flicked the filter on the rpm 1 switch yesterday and will try it again and see what happens. Hopefully that's all it will be.
I think I really need to spend a full day to just try and set everything up. I've sort of just been tinkering with the settings here and there.

Today I started my Aerovee engine. I have my Xtreme set to these settings. The readings appear to be correct now.

However I have another issue. The throttle is stuck with the engine running. The throttle moves smoothly when the engine is off but when it is running I can not move the throttle.
The engine starts right away. It seems to be running fairly smoothly.
The RPMs are around 1400
The oil pressure is 38 psi
I only ran it for a very short time period. The oil temp only got up to 89 degrees.
