Hi all,
Well I have successfully flown my QB Sonex. I must admit, I do only have 6 mins total air time on the board so far, but that's ok for now. The Turbo engine, pardon the pun, really blew me away in terms of performance. I have 70 hours on the standard Aerovee in my other plane, but my word, what a difference the Turbo makes. It literally just jumped off the ground.
It is also sooo much less noisy in operation and I look forward to really seeing what this plane can do.
Thumbs up to a great plane :)

Congrats! Great paint!
One question: Why so short on the first flight? I'm coming from more of a lycoming background and this will be my first VW engine break-in. In lyc land they make a big deal (possibly too big?) about a strong preference for running the engine at 75% power for the first hour to ensure the rings seat. Is that less of a problem in VW land?

Congrats! I love the paint scheme as well!
Please let us know how the continued test flights progress. It's always great to hear about another "TurboVee" up flying!
This makes at least 7 customer turbo's flying!

Thanks all :)
It was a short flight unfortunately as I had the mixture on the Aerocarb set too lean. I made a quick low level circuit and landed. I adjusted up the carb and was about to fly again however during the mag check discovered 2 cylinders miss firing on the primary. Extensive tests later revealed a non operational primary coil pack. I will need to replace it prior to more test flights. A bit bummed but that's aviation.
I still can't believe how well the turbos go though ;)
