SBPF meeting at Oshkosh

Hi everyone

I will be hosting a discussion at 11 am on Monday July 22, 2019 at AirVenture Oshkosh, on the flight line east of the Sonex booth. Not sure exactly where that is this year. I will be posting specifics once I am there and see the layout.

We will be discussing the future of the Sonex Builders and Pilots Foundation. Please note that this is not an official meeting.

Hate to say this, but we have reached a point where Michael Farley and I simply do not have the time to commit to running the foundation. With no one stepping forward in recent years to take over, we have come to a point where it’s time to have an honest and open discussion.

If you paid member dues for 2019 and want a refund, we understand and will accommodate this. Any remaining funds are going to be left as-is until a long term decision is reached.

I will be on the flight line right by Sonex Aircraft LLC tomorrow at 11 am for those interested in chatting.

An update from the discussion we held on the flight line this past Monday. A group of about 20 Sonex Pilots, Builders, and enthusiasts met and we were able to get a Board of Directors candidate to step up (replacing me) and a new President to step forward (replacing Michael Farley).

Specifics will be officially posted once we figure out how to hold the election and annual meeting (legal formalities) and all the i’s are dotted and tees crossed.

I’m very grateful that we had two members willing to step forward to keep the foundation going.

Robbie, I would personally like to say “THANK YOU” for all you’ve done for the Sonex community. You were not alone but I hope you realize that your efforts have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated.
