June 25, 2011: Mid Atlantic Coastal Sonex Gathering
Chesapeake Regional Airport (KCPK) Norfolk, VA

The first annual Mid Atlantic Costal Sonex gathering will be held on Saturday June 25th at 9:00 AM. We anticipate having multiple Sonex and Waiex at the gathering. There will be a lunch of Hotdogs and hamburgers served from 11:00 to 13:00, donations which will be appreciated but not required. Sonex rides are a possibility for potential Sonex builders and fans, based on the availability of aircraft owners willing to provide demo rides. No formal speeches, lectures or sales pitches. Just a bunch of Sonex fans that love to gather and talk about their airplanes or dreams.

The gathering will be held at Chesapeake Regional Airport (KCPK) that is home to EAA chapter 339 and several Sonex airplanes. CPK has ample aircraft parking and fuel is available. CPK is only minutes from Virginia Beach and not far to the Outer Banks of NC. Local accommodations are available and not unreasonably priced unless you want to stay on the resort strips. The Wright brothers first flight memorial is a short flight south of the airport and offers a great photographic opportunity for you and your aircraft.
