Oshkosh AirVenture 2015

Postby MichaelFarley56 » Thu Jun 11, 2015 4:28 pm

According to my calendar, we all have exactly 39 days until the start of this year's Oshkosh AirVenture. I certainly have high hopes for a good show this year and I hope to see a lot of Sonex support in the way of airplanes, builders, and enthusiasts throughout the week.

I was hoping to start a thread to see what everyone currently has planned for their travels. If you have a moment, please indicate if you are:

- Flying your Sonex to the show and parking in the HBP-Sonex area, or in the HBC area.

- Driving to the show.

- Can't make it this year but will be there in spirit.

I sure hope to see a lot of old friends, make new ones, and put faces to names I've talked to online. Now it's time to break out the polisher and start getting my Waiex ready!

I hope to be there for the sixth year in a row in the Orange Waiex, Mike.

As usual, I'll try to arrive for the open house and stay until at least mid-week. I'm looking forward to camping with you again... :D

It is a little iffy at the moment - we are planning to fly to the show, but we can't do it in the Sonex. It doesn't hold the kids. We have been slowly refurbing a very modest 1962 182 since February ... if it works out, we will be flying _it_ to Oshkosh. It is the opposite of exciting, but it can certainly haul kids.

If we were childless, Rose and I would absolutely be flying 618 "Flyin' Matilda" to the show.

I'll be pulling my trailer there.

Just ordered a 2nd Honda generator so my wife and kid can stay cool on the days they don't attend the show. :-)

Left my 5th wheel in FL but I may make it for a couple of days if I can connect with (7th Heaven?)to find a spot to put a tent.

I'll be flying the Waiex with my son. Probably first half of week and camping. We are close to flying off Mike Neidenthals phase 1 so he will probably be coming with me.
