Once again, Wayne Daniels has been kind enough to offer to host our annual Sonex builders/pilots BBQ at his "7th Heaven" home on the east side of Wittman Field.

This is an all-volunteer, self-organized event. We all work together to get there, help out, clean up and behave at Wayne's home - it offers an amazing perspective of the night airshow!

We ask each attendee to donate $10 for food and drink. (That cost is nothing compared to the on-site services!) Wayne always serves up the usual BBQ fare.

There are sign-up slots for cooks, cleanup, driving, and taking the donations. Again, friends, this is a self-organized all-volunteer event and we need your help to make it happen.

I’m not a lock to attend OSH yet, but if I make it I will happily help out!

I just gotta finish out Phase 1 and find an RV to rent somewhere within about 200 miles of OSH - my Dad is in phenomenal shape for 75, but puttin him up in a tent with no A/C is cruel after he squeezes in the Sonex with me for 1500 miles)!

i talked to robbie , we invited the sonex staff over for the bbq. please mingle and welcome them.
i’ll work the check in desk as usual, and bring the name tags. other things to bring to watch the nite airshow
are a chair and mosquito spray.

Thank you Michael for the reminder to sign up for the cookout! Kathy and I enjoy sharing our location for the cookout and viewing of the Wednesday night airshow and fireworks show. I must remind all that I will only insure a sufficient amount of food for the cookout based on the number of people signed up by Monday, July 24. I need an adequate amount of time to purchase and prepare the food, so anyone not signed up ON the Evite link will be unable to participate in the cookout, though you are still welcome to view the airshow and fireworks from here! Thank you all for your understanding and consideration!

I will reiterate. IF YOU PLAN to eat at the Wednesday night cookout/air show, please sign up on the link provided at the beginning of this thread BEFORE TOMORROW MORNING AT 10am. I will only be purchasing food for those signed up by 10am on Monday July 24th. We need sufficient time to get supplies ON ONE TRIP.

Matthew and I were going to fly back tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. Weather is looking like more adventure than I want to sign up for, so it's about 90% sure we will be flying up in the $200 Buick Century. With that said, I can give a ride if needed. Jerry is also giving rides but if there is more need then let me know - PM me your cell or contact details.

We’ll be looking for a ride to the BBQ this evening, and happy to pitch a few bucks for gas for anyone that puts up with us in their car for a few minutes. ;-)
