Looking for a project plane or kit?

I am president of a Central Indiana EAA Chapter, a registered non-profit. We will be wrapping up restoration on a 1940 Taylorcraft airplane. We use these projects with our Jr and Sr High School Young Eagles; teach airplane systems, shop tools & techniques, aircraft design, etc. We typically have a 3:1 student adult ratio and the kids will work on these in our Chapter Youth Center 2-3 days a week after school hours (so very good participation rates). A number of these kids have also gone onto Ray Scholarships for their PPL and also to college for careers in aviation. The objective is to use any proceeds from these projects to help fund the next project for our Young Eagles (self sustaining).

We are looking for our next project plane or kit. In our chapter we have one Sonex builder that has been flying for over 10 years and now three active Sonex builders; a legacy Waiex, a B Waiex, and a B Sonex.

If you have or know of someone that has a partial kit that they’ve lost interest in or a Sonex that that may have been damaged but could be repaired and they would consider donating to our YE program/Youth Center…..please contact me
