Edge distance

Hi all,
I have a question into Kerry at Sonex, but would solicit your experience too. One of the things I find challenging in this build is that many parts are designed around using minimum edge distance as the norm, i.e. 1/4" for 2D. When parts line up with edges on either side of the line, you have to get it perfect on both parts. My drive horns were hitting the skins on the ruddervators. Trimming for clearance I lost 1/16" of edge distance. This is probably why they have you rivet the horns on first, though I did not for the sake of easier of assembly. My bad. I can either rivet a joggle strip on the inside, or scrap and start over. Anybody else do something similar?

It would have been better to not screw up in the first place. Sigh. But, here is my fix. A piece of .025 bent to fit the inside of the rib and pick up both the row of drive horn rivets as well as the skin to rib rivets. Then a little joggle to get the repair piece to be flush with the skin. I will use AD426-4's (solid flush rivets) to attach it to the skin.

Sonex says I am good to go with reduced edge clearance.
