How to attach gear leg fairings

I am working on getting my gear leg fairings trimmed and installed and am curious as to how people have attached them. I made a bracket like the one on Eric Witherspoons website:

It holds the top of the fairing really nicely but there isn't anything holding the bottom from moving back and forth. What have you done or seen done to hold the fairing centered on the gear leg correctly?

Hi, Keith;

I didn't use any brackets. I have two hinge pins for each leg, inserted from the center of the fairing up and down, respectively. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the floor for the upper pin, and a hole in the wheelpant for the lower hole.

I did the exact same thing as Carl. When I added hydraulic brakes, I needed to shorten the lower pin as it would hit the caliper. Now the only pin I have to maintain the position of the fairing is the upper pin that goes through the floor skin. Still works fine.

Thanks for the advice. I kept the brackets I made on the top of the gear leg fairing but did as you suggested and drilled a hole in the wheel pant for the bottom pin. Worked like a charm.

I did the same as Carl as well. No issues.
