Howdy folks,
I just installed my AeroInjector "carb" (or whatever you want to call it), and I'm setting everything up according to the instructions that came with it. Page 13 talks about the mixture cable and how to install it, and specifically step 8 says to tighten the swivel nut enough to grip the cable but it should still freely rotate within the arm.
I have found that there is no tightness that holds the cable securely in the arm and still lets the swivel nut rotate within the arm as it moves! It looks to me like the hole through the swivel nut is too close to the arm, so when the set screw is tight it clamps the cable against the side of the arm and therefore it can't rotate relative to the arm.
The result of this is that pulling the mixture knob forces the cable to flex (since it's locked to the arm), so as soon as I let go of the knob it just springs back to approximately where it was.
If I loosen the swivel nut enough so it can rotate at all, it doesn't hold the cable well enough and the cable just slips through when I move the mixture knob.
Has anyone else encountered this? It seems like if the hole through the swivel nut was just a little farther away from the arm (to the right, in the attached picture) then it would work fine. I guess alternately I could file the arm a tiny bit thinner to make some clearance?!
Thanks guys!
