Is Your Build Secure? - Sawhorse Collapse

Thought I just pass this along to everyone that may be using sawhorses to support their fuselage or wings during the building process. Apparently an RV builder was using the plastic saw horses to support his fuselage and they collapsed while no one was around.

Me too. I've had my Waiex on those same cheapo plastic Harbor Fright POS horses. I guess I dodged a bullet.

From the looks of the picture it appears that the specific saw horse was just overloaded. The picture shows the engine being installed without landing gear (something to do with a gear service bulletin on the RV).
Robbie, you might look at adding crossmember support between the two sides just to keep this from happening. I'm always afraid that I'm going to bump my fuselage off the horses because it is still light weight.

While I used both wooden and plastic saw horses ... once I got much weight on the fuselage, I got 4 auto jackstands and made 2 cross beams out of 2x4's bolted together and covered with carpet. It made it stronger and easier to level. I was afraid of this happening.
