What is the general consensus on what to use on the elevator pushrod where it passes through the plastic bushings? I tried white lithium grease but didn't like it very much.

I use Ivory bar soap as a lube here. Put it on wet as though I was washing my hands with it and seems to reduce the stickiness of the push tube for maybe a year or so. Other lubes I tried just didn't last very long. Oh, and when I built my Sonex I mounted the plastic guides on a standoff so that the push tube would be going through the guide at close to 90 degrees rather than at an angle if you mount them flat on the u-channel.

Hope this helps,

I use LPS-2 for all my control connections. It's a long-lasting wet lubricant widely used in the aviation industry.

LPS-1 is also an excellent dry lubricant that might work for you.
