Transporting Tri-gear Sonex

Postby deank » Thu Jun 08, 2017 5:51 pm

Hello everyone,

I am preparing to transport a complete tri-gear sonex with an aerovee.
I would appreciate any ideas on the best way to support the wings.
Ideas on wing cradles would be great. I have an open trailer that I have used to
haul a dragonfly and long-ez. So I have some experience but would appreciate any tips.

Pictures and dimensions would be great.

Thanks,

Kevin Dean

I built a couple slings out of 2x4s. The sling material was just some outdoor carpet I picked up from Lowes for about twenty bucks. Don't have any measurements but I did use some large screws to attach the slings to the trailer and the cross brace over the top to stabilize it. Wrapped the wings in a couple old blankets. Strapped everything down. Drove it from Texas to Georgia on this rig...
