Landing/recognition light installation?

Has anyone installed any type of landing/recognition light in their lower cowling (LED or other)? If so, what size and watts? Have you gotten any feedback regarding how the light increases the daytime visibility of your plane in the pattern (thinking of safety)? Pros and cons of what you installed? I know others have mounted landing/recognition lights in their wings, so I'm wondering about the cowling location.

If you have followed my story you know I have wingtip lights. I have seen a Bonanza in the pattern with a flashing light in the cowl. It was noticable. I think anything is better than nothing. I had considered this as well. I flew a PA28R for a long time and it had a cowl light. I do like my wingtip lights though!

Hi all,
I think wing tip lites w wig-wag is the best way to go. Safety for other planes, the twr to see you, and even birds. Was reading an article about a helicoptor company, they havent had any bird strikes since installing the wig wag. Were using kuntzleman lighting. Pos., nav , strobes, all in one unit on tips, and outer wing bays landg. Lites , led. Works well.

If I build again, I'd put the Duckworks on both wings and do a wigwag. I have one Duckworks landing light and turn it on in the pattern but the wig-wag is supposed to scare off wildlife too. Right? Since I don't fly at night, maybe I'll put the landing light on a flasher relay just because its more noticeable.
