On Saturday January 23, 2016, a group of us initiated what I'll call the Arizona Sonex Type Group. We agreed to include anything that John Monnett, et al, designed. There are no prerequisites to join the group and attend any proposed event or meeting, just an interest in John's simple and true aircraft.

We concurred that meeting 3 to 4 times a year fit our desires. Each meeting will be hosted by a volunteer that will decide the format and location. John Stewart offered to host a meeting on April 9th 2016, with his Sonex project located at Phoenix Goodyear airport (KGYR).

Dave Wilcox will organize a campout at the Payson airport campgrounds on Saturday, June 25th 2016. Early arrivals on Friday will be welcomed as well. The campout invitation is extended beyond the Arizona residents. That's the plan so far.

Hi Dave,
Please keep everyone posted for your events. We'll fly up from Tucson in our Waiex, Apr 9 th, let us know location and time etc. (GYR). We had our waiex at copperstate mid October 2015. Had lots of builders stop by and take a look. Was good to meet a lot of nice folks.

Hi Michael,
I will post more details about the April 9th meeting I am hosting at my my hangar at Phoenix Goodyear (KGYR) as it get closer.
It will probably start around 10:00 or 11:00 and go for a couple of hours.
I will check on arrangements for those that want to fly-in. I am hoping that you will be able to just park in front of my hangar. I am in hangar 7-9 which is in the south T-Hangars at A8 intersection.
For those driving in we will probably need to meet at the terminal and car pool to my hangar.
More to follow as it gets closer.
