Plastic wrap on Flaps/Ailerons stuck

I am trying to get the wrap peeled off my control surfaces. The wrap has been on the surfaces for about 8 years and is so brittle it just flakes in micro pieces. I've tried a hair dryer and heat gun. Any other tips?

Thanks.

A safety razor blade works on the flat surface but basically its slowly slowly with a heat gun.

Hi All,
This happened yrs ago with a glastar project. Suggestions then were to wipe with mineral spirits , let sit and soak in , then try the heat gun. Seemed to work ok. Then wipe w acetone to get any residue off. Give it a try!

Its a pain. I've recently made some parts using some old stock and had the same issue removing the wrapper. Sometimes you can work a corner up, then roll it onto a long tube to evenly pull it. But mostly it just becomes another reason to cuss.

Heat gun and straight blade. Finally done. Now I have some sanding and serious polishing to do. Thanks for the tips.
