Mounting GoPro

For anyone who has successfully externally mounted their cameras:
I mounted my GoPro on the left wing, looking back at the fuselage. The video came out really shaky. It looked like the camera was vibrating back and forth very rapidly. I'm thinking I may have mounted it too far from some structure like a rib or the spar cap, and so the skin is moving as the air hits the camera. Anyone had that happen to them, and perhaps have a suggestion? I'm going to remove the mount and try putting is near/on some structure. Of course first I have to get the 3M VHB adhesive off! I've already scoured the Internet for suggestions on removing that stuff so I'll see how it goes.
Second question is if anyone has photos of how they mounted a GoPro on the vertical stab, looking forward.
Thanks,
